Natalie

Hello!

I'm Natalie and I own the Rock'n'Roller Parlour salon based in FarGo Village, Coventry.

Back in the days of teenage dreams, my ambition was to be famous in the music industry. After graduating from university, I tried to make it, but simply couldn't find a way in. 4 years later, I decided to go travelling and start from scratch. Whilst away, I had possibly the worst hair breakage that I have encountered, which quite frankly ruined my self confidence for a little while. I looked completely disheveled but not even in the stylish, hipster way! After a few visits to various salons, my hair was finally fixed. I felt elated and like a weight had been lifted. It was on this day that I decided I wanted to become a hairstylist - I wanted to make other people feel good, more like "them" and oozing confidence like I now was.

Not long after setting up the Rock'n'Roller Parlour, I realised that Ruby the caravan was becoming more than just a funky hair salon - she was becoming a little spot of trusty goodness. I realised I could reach out, in addition to my wonderful existing clients, to those in particular who suffer with social anxiety.

According to the Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 6 young adults experience mental health symptoms per week! It is a huge problem in today's world with anxiety being the second highest form of mental illness. My own personal mission is to make somebody who would usually be terrified of a hair salon environment feel safe, trusted and ultimately good about themselves because their hair feels good. What a wonderful thing to be able to do.. and to call it your career too - it's magic and I wouldn't change it for the world.
